OK, so I have a lot to learn...

I have to start spinning again, I completely underestimated how much yarn I would need for this project, but all is not lost. I will use what I have already dyed for a bunting or something... this is the pattern I have decided to use. It calls for 5 ounces or 1640 yards of worsted weight yarn. That is about 7 or 8 skeins at the rate I can get on one spindle. Picked up this pattern on leisureartslibrary.com

Back to the drawing board!

You are your own yarn store - what's wrong with that?!

That is a beautiful pattern, you'll love doing it. I did a vest for hubby almost the same exact pattern. Seed stitch and the the same type of cable up each side, it's on my blog under vests. Very nice to knit! What a lucky little girl :)

Wow! I've had a lot to catch up on here! I've been reading all the blog entries I've missed lately - that'll teach me to go out and shovel snow! See what happens? Blog entries!

I think hadspinning yearn for a project is a lot like remodeling a home - it takes twice as long and three times the amounts you thought to get it done. LOL!
But you've got a beautiful start going here! ;)

Ok, remember... This is a crochet pattern, and they are using commercial yarn (weighs less than handspun by the yard). You will probably need way more than 5 oz. for this project. Spin 10 or 12 and you really won't run out! You could also do something cool with stripes using the already spun/dyed stuff and natural - that would give you a headstart on the amount of yarn you need...
