When we moved onto this property, there were three buildings besides the house and the garage. This is one of them. It did have a door at one point, but the kids played it off.
When I got my chickens a plan took hold to turn this into their home. This is what it looked like at the time. The people that lived here before us seemed to have a problem getting garbage into a can...
So when my chickens were big enough, I cleaned the area up and put up a small fence comprised of the panels that I usually use for lambing jugs and threw a length of construction fence over it to keep out the hawks and put heavy plastic over the door. I knew this was temporary, I was waiting until I had enough money to put a door on it and build up the yard.
Yesterday I enlisted the help of three teenage boys (Kevin and two friends) to help me get that bigger yard put up.
I had to order the chicken wire, which will be in next Thursday, so its not quite finished but I am very proud of it. The guys did a great job and I think they had fun! Its only 8x8x7 but I actually think the chickens like it :)

I think it turned out great and it looks like the chickens think it did too.

Looks similar in size to our chickie set-up; congrats on your coop and run!
