Little Jessie

Jessie and Momma Scarlett are sunning this morning. Jessie is modeling her new out fit, designed by lamanchappy of eBay fame. This is a 14" jacket made with love and velcro, a perfect combo for a perfect fit! Wish you could see her little fat tail :)
If you go looking for these jackets at the above link, you may have to wait a bit, lamanchappy doesn't take orders but she relists these jackets every now and then, just keep checking back!

Wow, SOMEone's calculations were off, but who cares? Jessie is a cutey, and congratulations to Scarlet for producing when it counts. :-) I assume Jessie is 3/4 tunis?

lol I think it was Scarlett that was off :)
Its funny, her first two years she lambed exactly 150 days after I put the ram in, like her eggs were hanging on the edge in there waiting for the ram to get close and droped instantly! her third year she dropped two premies that were most likely dead at birth, then last year, we put her in the jug with red swollen udders; two weeks later she was skinny and her udders were gone!?!? Go figure! I am guessing the Jessie is lucky to be alive, since I didn't put Scarlett in with a ram until October 17th last year. Puts Jessie at least 7 days early.

3/4 sounds good to me! She will be kept as a terminal ewe in our market flock.

Awww, she's a cutie! And what a lovely model for the lamb blanket. I don't know that you can say she's 3/4 tunis since the California red became a separate breed. You'd have to know the percentage of tunis in the CA Red breed (and I'm guessing it's more than 50% since the other part--Barb--doesn't appear much in evidence), but in the end it doesn't matter 'cuz she's adorable no matter what!

Jessie is precious - what a sweet little thing. Doesn't take a mother to love that face!
