New Arrivals

Crimson lambed this morning, around 5:30, a ram lamb and a ewe. The ewe lamb is closest to the wall, she's not doing so good. I am pretty sure at this point that Crimson is rejecting her, but at least she is alive, we didn't think she would make it this long. Neither were very strong, and both had very cold mouths when we got them into the jug, but after drenching with nutri-drench and colostrum, they are both warm now. The ewe lamb is still having a hard time standing, her back legs are weak. They have both nursed, we had to hold Crimson still while standing the little one up, but we managed. The ram lamb nursed on his own.

I went to Elko yesterday (should have bought some lamb replacer in retrospect), and picked up this roving from Carmen. We had made a trade last year of some of my moorit from The Wool Ranch, for some of the finished mohair blend. Carmen raises angora goats and likes to do a 50/50 blend with moorit wool
I had some silk on my wheel (last picture) that I needed to finish before I could start on that, so I was up late last night, as well as up very early this morning...

The price we pay... I love it :) (yawn!)

Oh that's such beautiful yarn! My prayers for the little ewe lamb that she makes it, the poor sweet baby.

Congratulations on the lambs! I hope that the little ewe makes it!

I love that blend; it looks like a rich fawn! I'll bet it is a dream to spin. Hope both lambies make it! Have you noticed that my Butter looks a bit like a Tunis? I think she does, especially when her head is down grazing.

Get that lamb some BoSe - failing that, give her Vitamin E, one capsule several times a day (slice it open and squeeze it into her mouth) for a week. That should help...

I can't tell you how relieved I am not to be lambing this year. It would be different if I was home all the time, but I'm not, so it's just too much.

Good luck with the lambies!

That gorgeous yarn is enough to bring tears to my eyes. It's time to move your production skills on past crochet, like maybe weave??

Becky sorry I've been missing your posts. It's been wild here. Yes get some Bo-Se and hit all your ewes before they lamb!

That yarn is beautiful! Is is white mohair that she blends in? Hmmm, I have a fair amount of mohair still in my basement and had a few moorits sheared this past weekend. Good luck with your lambies!
