So nice! Maybe some pretty ribbon embellishment to devide the two color ways and call it a "design element" I would not tweek the colors now that you are finished! IMHO I'd be chicken to do anything more to the color.
What Mim said. I'd be leary of doing anything harsh like clorox. After all that work and the beautiful result,maybe an embroidery stitch, like the blanket stitch running along the line?
Ta-da! I need to tuch some ends and do something about that first skein (dip it in clorox water?) but its pretty much done! :)

Here's a thought: could you embroider the baby's name, centered horizontally and vertically, in the darker area? It's beautiful, regardless!
How beautiful, I like the ideas from the other comments, treat it as a "I meant to do that".
I would love to be able to create something so nice!
