I dont know how other people do it, but this is my method. My kate is not tensioned, but it works for me.I have heard others talk about having the kate behind them, but I think that would really bug me; for one thing I wouldn't be able to see what was going on. With it in front of me, I can keep the tension right and know if I am going to fast and making the bobbins spin.

Oh what a beautiful scarf pattern. You are inspiring me to spin up some of my merino fleeces.......your skeins are lovely!
dessessLovely is the word! I don't even spin merino because I don't like the way it turns out. Maybe next time I see you I can get a few lessons.
What a beautiful job, love the pattern too. I can't crochet to save my life! Can't wait to see it finished you always do such nice work.
I like the way you ply, I usually have mine next to me and I keep having to look around. I'm going to give your way a try, Thanks!!
Oh wow! I'm with Mim. Ditto that. Maybe we could get a two-fer lesson?
Just absolutely beautiful! Well done!
You're amazing!
I should give you my "spinning for Lace" class notes and let you teach it...
Hi Becky,
Beautiful, just beautiful.
I saw your message on my blog about wanting alpaca fleece. I would be interested in trading some for wool. That way we could be sure of the quality (I have had some not so nice experiences in purchasing fleeces). Let me know if you are interested and we can discuss it further.. My email is cinnabar_38@yahoo.com
Becky, this yarn is just fabulous! Wow, I am so envious!
Simply beautiful.
